Wolfpack Empire

By its very nature, Empire benefits from the work of a large number of volunteers. Over the years, the contributions they have made to the game are what has made the game great.

One of the ways in which players have contributed to the Empire community is through websites. What follows is a listing of known Empire websites. If you know of any additional sites, or if a site becomes dead. Please let us know.

"The game came back up in about 5 minutes. The update already passed, and I hadn't even assaulted him yet. There sat my nice fat battleship, right on my enemy's coast. The element of surprise was now gone.

" 'What the hell!' I decided, and assaulted him anyway, taking a couple of sectors, including one he needed units to reach. About this time I started receiving bulletins. He was online. My planes quickly interdicted and damaged his units by about 40% as he tried to move them to the front line. Sure my planes got chewed up, but it sure slowed him down.

"He flew a plane over my battleship, but it got destroyed. Next thing, submarines started sinking my battleship! His capitol was on the coast, but 30 mil made the prospect of assaulting it out of the question.

"Then I noticed that he had moved military forces out of a harbor on the far side of his island, probably to help bolster the front.

"I was grinning big as I loaded a single armor unit on the only ship that could reach it. I naved the ship, a solo destroyer, around to his back side, assaulted his now empty harbor with my military, docked the destroyer, and unloaded the armor.

"Two lightly defended sectors later my armor was sitting pretty in his capitol and the bulletins suddenly stopped. To this day I can imagine him typing away and suddenly seeing 'torp is not a legal command'..."

WinACE Empire Client Site
WinACE is a fully capable Graphical User Interface (GUI) client for Empire. It's not the only one out there, but it's the most recognized and used client of its type in the game.
PTkEI2 Empire Client Site
PTkEI is a fully capable Graphical User Interface (GUI) client for Empire. The client is written in Python, making it more cross platform than other GUI clients.
EIF (Empire InterFace)
This client first appeared on the scene in 1991. It's still around, and supported by Marc Olzheim.
The Fodderbot Project
Out of date site, but some interesting material regarding a robotic Empire player.
Empire Classic
Empire in a more original like form. This game is fairly divergent from what the wolfpackempire.com site offers, but both games have some common heritage even if there is a long running disagreement about the origins of each.

Empire, Wargame of the Century
If you're looking for one of the original versions of Empire, there is a version at this site that is compatible with windows platforms. This 'Empire' is not of the same genealogy as our Empire, but is nonetheless often of interest to the players of our game.

This list is by no means comprehensive. There are other Empire sites on the web, and many people have some of them bookmarked. Entering in "Wolfpack Empire" in Google, or (if you're feeling really bored) "Empire" will generate a rather large list of potential sites to investigate.
